Words From Our Captain

I am very honoured to have been chosen as your new Club Captain for 2017 under the new venture name of Ravenmeadow & Perdiswell Park Golf Club.

My right-hand man and Vice Captain for the year will be Stephen Griffiths who is also an experienced Committee Member and has a good understanding of what it takes to run a forward-thinking Golf Club.

2016 saw many changes for both of the respective golf clubs with the establishment of the new course-share venture. It was, all things considered, a really smooth transition which enabled players from both clubs to enjoy the new course, make new golfing friends and provided some fresh and competitive challenges.

Many thanks go to the two previous Club Captains, Roy Coombes (Ravenmeadow) and Barrie Hope (Perdiswell Park) who took the two neighbouring Golf Clubs seamlessly through some trying times as two, slowly but surely, became one and brought us to where we find ourselves at the start of the new season which promises to be exciting and challenging as we move positively into the future with much to look forward to.

I anticipate that the new venture will go from strength to strength and look forward to welcoming new members both old and young.

To ensure the continued success of the Golf Club I would like to encourage you to raise any issues with your Committee as soon as possible so that the club continues to run smoothly and effectively and in the best interests of its Members.

It just leaves me to say that I look forward to serving the Golf Club as best I can and I wish you all a successful season.

My chosen Charity for 2017 will be the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Kind regards
Steve Baylis

Ravenmeadow & Perdiswell Park Golf Club
Set in approximately 85 acres of beautiful Worcestershire Parkland, Ravenmeadow Golf Centre is the home of Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park Golf Club.

Ravenmeadow Golf Centre has an 18 hole parkland course situated on the outskirts of Worcester city centre. Lying just off the A38 and within easy reach of the M5 (Jcn 6), Ravenmeadow Golf Centre is ideally situated and easily accessible from all areas.

The PGA Golf Professionals at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre will assist regarding the purchase of golfing equipment from the well stocked Pro Shop and offer tuition for golfers of all abilities. The Centre also offers a driving range and several other practice facilities. Golf club and/or trolley hire is available if required and for a more relaxed round why not hire a Buggy (advance booking is preferential), subject to availability.

Offering a fantastic challenge to handicap golfers of all ages, juniors, ladies and beginners alike, Ravenmeadow Golf Centre offers a relatively flat par 69 (68 for ladies) course of approximately 5500 yards (white tees), 5300 yards (yellow tees) and 4800 yards (red tees) and possibly the best value for money Membership schemes in Worcestershire. At times unassuming and benign looking, but equally, beguilingly gritty and frustrating the golf course is a diverse and rewarding challenge not to be missed.

Ravenmeadow Golf Centre is the home of Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park Golf Club which has a healthy membership and features great, regular competition golf as well as several knock-out competitions, Inter-club competitions and Charity events so, as a participating Member, there is plenty to be proud of and much to compete for (a CONGU handicap is required to enter the competitions).

Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park Golf Club uses a state-of-the-art interactive system for competition bookings, score input and much more, and competition results are posted from the database onto the "How Did I Do" website along with handicap adjustments and other analyses and information.

Ravenmeadow Golf Centre offers a range of membership regimes and payment options; unlimited golf, 5 day or 7 day membership, senior and junior rates plus other concessions are available if qualifying conditions apply. For pricing details it is recommended that you contact the Golf Professional.

Membership to Ravenmeadow and Perdiswell Park Golf Club is not compulsory but is recommended. Depending upon Competition / Match schedules, Pay & Play tee slots are available all week long for all-comers; contact our Golf Professional for times and prices.

You do not need an official CONGU handicap to play golf at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre; you can simply book a tee time, pay your green fees and go out and enjoy yourself with 9 or 18 holes. Please note that, as with most golf courses, there is a dress code requirement but this is generally a pretty relaxed affair aimed at keeping standards on the golf course acceptable for all.

Need a CONGU handicap? There will nearly always be someone about to play along with to get your card marked. Just ask at the Pro shop or enquire with golfers around the course.

Golf Societies, corporate events and groups of golfers are easily catered for, special packages are available on request.

Can You See The Malverns?

It is often said here at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre that, when on the south side of the course, if you can see The Malvern Hills there's a good chance the weather will be kind to you during the rest of your round. However, if the Malverns have disappeared, golfers beware, you might be in for a bit of inclement weather shortly!!

This doesn't look too promising though!
